About me:

They call me ‘Mini.’ I would now like to say, cooking is my passion and I enjoy it so much that I would like to cook all day, everyday! I would also like to say that I am a born chef, who awes everyone with this incredible talent! But since the good book says to speak the truth. Cooking has always fascinated me even as a child, but that is because eating is one of my favorite things to do! Like most girls, I have received my first cooking lessons in the most informal setting, while helping my Mom in the kitchen. Her perfectionism and set way of cooking methods enabled me to get a good foundation on basic cooking skills.

There is one thought, that I wake up with on most days, even since the last fifteen years and that is ‘what do I cook today.’ And when I trace that thought, it finds its origin in none other than my crazy clan and especially, my two little munchkins aka food critics sans mercy! Shalom and Nathaniel are my two young boys, who have inherited the maximum dose of the ‘foodie gene’ from both their parents.

Food Connoisseurs or so they think!

My husband Samuel, a self proclaimed food aficionado, has always had a fine taste. He has an extra ordinary, annoying, irritating ability to decipher what went into a particular dish just by taking a whiff of it. He is an adventurer in all aspects, including food.

This crazy family of mine, coupled with my own love for all things ‘food’ is why I cook.

My early attempts of trying my hand at cooking dates back to my childhood kitchen at my parents’. Helping Mom in the kitchen was not optional, since my Mom was a super busy working woman. While helping my Mom inevitably taught me the fine nuances of cooking, my insufferable love of eating has been the drive to just go cook!

Cooking for me is just a means to eating. The frugal bone in me acts as a catalyst to try and recreate those fancy food that we so love at some of those pretentious restaurants. This little website is just a place to showcase what we cook and eat on a regular basis. It is a no-frills, cook-with-what’s-in-hand kind of a approach. It is cooking for the sake of ‘nirvana!’ An attempt to achieve that Zen with deliciousness! It is Cooking for Catharsis!
